The San Francisco Giants and starting pitcher Tim Lincecum are nearing a deal to avoid arbitration. The deal ( if it happens) will most likely be a 1 year deal. Lincecum requested $21.5 million dollars. If arbitration occurs Tim Lincecum would receive a salary of $17 million dollars. He has won 2 National League Cy Young awards and has had 4 All-Star appearances. This really shows that he’s a valuable pitcher and a need for the team. I really think the cost is way too much for 1 year. I have to admit he is amazing and I have loved watching him pitch.
Welcome to MLBlogs, Bleacher Boy! I enjoy your cousin’s blog and look forward to reading your’s as well. I was surprised to read about Lincecum’s two year deal today. I was thinking more along the lines of what you were thinking. Starters are extra expensive these days.
Tough luck about Fielder. If you had to lose him, at least he’s out of the NL.
